Partnership: NYIT-PKU: Clean Water Management

Collaborative applied research projects to introduce innovative technologies for effective detection, protection and monitoring of groundwater resources

EcoPartners

New York Institute of Technology and Peking University EcoPartnership on Groundwater Monitoring, Protection, and Training
Focus Areas:
Implementation Plan:

The EcoPartnership brings together a strong core team from Peking University (PKU), Wuhan University (WHU), New York Institute of Technology (NYIT), the International Society for Water Solutions (ISWS) of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE), and industrial partners, including HDR|HydroQual and Cameron Engineering.

Concept: The EcoPartners are committed to the promotion of environmental sustainability and clean water, through:

Collaborative applied research projects that will introduce innovative technologies for effective detection, protection and monitoring of groundwater resources, including:
§Modular 3D Multi-Species Transport Model (MT3DMS), to map contaminant migration in aquifers
§Integrated Web-Based Groundwater Detection (IWB-GD) tool, to be used for groundwater monitoring and observation
§Groundwater Sampling and Monitoring via Telemetry, to understand the condition of groundwater wells and improve management of groundwater resources in drought-prone or arid regions
ØTraining and Outreach, including workshops and conferences to disseminate findings and outcomes.
