University of Kentucky Center for Applied Energy Research – Jiangsu Wisdom Engineering Technology

Concept: 

The EcoPartnership aims to reduce and control flue gas emissions in energy-intensive industries. The project team will research and develop key flue gas decarbonization (VOCs) technologies in energy-intensive industries and research the industrialization of efficient flue gas desulfurization and denigration technology.

Key Accomplishments:

On December 12, 2015, University of Kentucky/Jiangsu Wisdom EcoPartnership hosted the 2nd International Forum for Comprehensive Treatment Technology of Air and Water Pollution in Nanjng, China. Approximately 200 people participated in the conference, covering topics such as energy policy, air emission control, and waste water treatment. For more information, please visit our News section.

Developed modular system solutions, technologies and apparatuses for recycling of organic gases for CO2 emissions reduction. 

Completed oil and gas recovery projects in the first and sixth workshops of Shanghai Petrochemical. At the end of 2016, University of Kentucky/Jiangsu Wisdom oil and gas recovery unit successfully bid the Jinling Petrochemical Project, Zhenhai Petrochemical Project and Dalian West Pacific Petrochemical Project.  

Work Plan: 
Task 1
R&D and industrialize efficient flue gas desulfurization and denitrification technology based on active alkali liquor circulation and regulation.
Task 2
Develop, pilot, and industrialize off-gas hydrocarbon resource recycling technology and equipment for CO2 emissions reduction in the refinery sector.
